• A typical music CD carries approximately 600MB of data and a 2TB hard drive will hold approximately 2400 CDs. Ripping a typical CD takes approximately 5 minutes but can take longer depending on the condition of the disk. The advanced data handling algorithms ensure the ripped data is always a ‘bit perfect’ copy, unless the CD is badly damaged. An internet connection is necessary for Uniti Core to identify CDs and download their artist, title, track listing and artwork data. Copyright issues: The music carried on a CD, and the recording of the CD itself, is likely to be the subject of copyright restrictions which allow the owner of the CD to make copies for personal use only. Ripping CDs that you don’t personally own may violate copyright law. A Music Store must be connected and configured before a CD can be ripped.
